VIRGIN Train has launched a one-day First Class seat summer sale for passengers who want to travel in style for less.
The bargain tickets will be available to book from 10:00 on Wednesday July 12 with nearly 50 per cent discounts for single journeys between London King’s Cross, Leeds and Newcastle.
Some of the deals available include popular routes such London to Leeds down to £20 from £43.50 and London to Newcastle for just £30 instead of £54.50
London to Edinburgh will also be selling at £40 from the usual £58.50.
First Class tickets’ perks include complimentary food and drink, reclining leather seats, free wifi and additional legroom for customers who want to make their journeys more comfortable.
Tickets are available for travel between July 22 and September 22, meaning you can use them throughout the summer.
David Horne, managing director at Virgin Trains on the east coast, advised customers to be quick as tickets are likely to sell out fast.
For customers looking for even cheaper bargains the rail company also launched a five-day summer seat sale – from Thursday July 6 to Tuesday July 11 – with prices starting from just £4.

In March, Virgin was bombarded with complaints from passengers who were unable to book tickets.
The firm at the time said that “unprecedented” demand for tickets caused its website to crash.
The summer sales also come as Virgin Trains and other rail companies are to allow passengers to buy advance tickets up to 10 minutes before the train’s departure time at a reduced cost.
The advance tickets can be bought up to one hour before purchase on Virgin Trains’ West Coast route, and two hours before the train leaves its origin station on Virgin Trains’ East Coast route, the Sun Online found.
