WELCOME to Sun Savers, Scotland’s brightest and best savings club.  Every day you can make money simply by reading your favourite paper.

To bank the cash, all you need to do is download the super Sun Savers app, then scan the code which is printed in the paper each day. Alternatively, you can log onto sunsavers.co.uk to get started and enter your codes online.

When you’ve collected 28 codes, we’ll send you a free fiver – it’s that easy! Collect all year and you can make up to £65 to spend on whatever you like.

Now, owning an animal can be costly, with the average cat adding £770 to your annual household bills and dogs costing anything up to £2,000.

But did you know your pet can make you money too?

As a nation of animal lovers, we love splashing out on our furry friends and the Paw Pound is booming.

We’ve teamed up with new pet carers site pawshake.co.uk  – dubbed  ‘Airbnb for pets’ – to bring you the top six ways to make money from your pets.

Tanguy Peers, co-founder of Pawshake.co.uk, said: “Pet sitting and dog walking are ways for pet owners to generate a second income which is flexible enough to work around family life and other commitments.

1. Pet modelling – Agencies like Pet London need animals of all shapes, ages and sizes to star in advertising campaigns or even TV shows.

2. Pet sitting – Use pawshake.co.ukwebsite or app to find other animal owners who need their pet sitting while they are away on holiday. Even if you don’t have a pet, you can get paid to care for one. If you do have a pet, it’s cheaper than a kennels or cattery and means your pet gets to stay at home while you are away.

3. Social media – Brands are turning to pets to be their ambassadors. Build up your pet’s Instagram following and wait for the cash to roll in.

4. Free holidays – Luxury holiday firm cottages.co.ukrecently advertised for a dog to stay in their posh cottages for free. Check out where else offers pet-friendly deals.

5. Dog Walking – Take a two and a half day course with the Pet Industry Federation to gain a City and Guilds Certificate of Competency in Dog Walking. Setting up a business page on Facebook is free and rates are an average of £11.25 per hour.

6. Set up a pet business – From making designer leads and collars to grooming to sewing outfits for cats and dogs, pet-related businesses are booming. There are even specialist food firms catering to pet’s dietary needs.

If you’re pet-mad, think of a business which could do well in your area and start it up on the side first to see if it could be successful. You can sell at low rates through sites like eBay and Amazon.
