A NEW study has revealed Scots are the CANNIEST in the whole of Britain.
And it seems the new poll confirms the old stereotype that people north of the border are TIGHT with their money.

Glaswegians came out on top of the survey while folk in Edinburgh completed the top ten of UK cities.
A total of 2,000 working Brits took part in the study from pensions specialists Portafina.
And they found that the top ‘saving city’ in the UK – where the most people put £2,000 or more into a savings account in the past 12 months – was Glasgow.
A whopping 32 per cent of the Glaswegians polled said they had topped up their savings by £2,000 or more in the past year.

But not everybody in Scotland’s biggest city managed to hide away the pennies.
Barman Ollie Innes, 39, revealed he had only managed to save £500 in the past year.
He said: “I’d love to save more, but I seem to spend most of my wages before I’m even paid.
“The only reason I managed to save £500 last year was because I had a nice big win on Celtic scoring more than 100 goals.”

Glasgow beat out places like Nottingham, London and Norwich to take the top spot in the poll.
Meanwhile Edinburgh snuck into the top ten with 19 per cent saying they’d topped up their savings by £2,000 or more in the past year.
Jamie Smith-Thompson, of Portafina, said: “The poll gives a very healthy view of how people are managing to save in the UK.”
The top 10 'saving cities', in which those polled saved £2,000 or more in the past year are as follows;
1 – Glasgow – 32 per cent
2 – Nottingham – 26 per cent
3 – London – 24 per cent
4 – Norwich – 24 per cent
5 – Birmingham – 23 per cent
6 – Southampton – 23 per cent
7 – Leeds – 22 per cent
8 – Liverpool – 21 per cent
9 – Manchester – 20 per cent
10 Edinburgh – 19 per cent
